About Pets Friends Veterinary Clinic

Pets Friends Veterinary Clinic is a family-run small animal veterinary clinic situated conveniently just off the main road running through Stenhousemuir and Larbert. The practice was established in 2006 by Veterinary Surgeon, David Charity and employs two full time and one part time nurse and an administrator.

Our staff

DAVID CHARITY, Veterinary Surgeon: David graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1997 and after several years in private practice and a spell working from the PDSA (Peoples Dispensary for Sick Animals), joined a local practice in 2003. The practice had three branch clinics, one of which was in Stenhousemuir. In 2006 the opportunity arose to buy the Stenhousemuir clinic and David has never looked back. After a change of name to Pets Friends Veterinary Clinic, he has spent the subsequent years developing and building the practice into the modern, well-equipped clinic you can visit today.

Lynn Campbell, Veterinary Surgeon: Lynn graduated from Glasgow in 1996 and ventured off into mixed practice in Anglesey, North Wales. Lynn has fond memories of her time there and still returns to visit friends and practice her Welsh. On returning to Scotland in 1999, Lynn worked in Dunfermline and Glasgow part-time as her kids grew up. She has completed the RCVS certificate in general practice which focused on dogs and cats and involved 600 hours of study over 2 years. This combined her years of practical experience with a knowledge of current opinion on how best to treat her patients. Throughout the pandemic Lynn has been kept very busy working night shifts in an out of hours clinic and covering occasional days at Pets Friends. Outside of work Lynn enjoys swimming, both indoors and in open water and has taken part in the Kilgreggan to Greenock swim across the Clyde in previous years and is hoping to do so again when the event is reinstated. Lynn also enjoys hillwalking and running and completed her one and only marathon on the Isle of Harris in 2019.

Karen, Veterinary Nursing Assistant / Practice Manager: Karen is a highly experienced veterinary nursing assistant having worked in this role for over 20 years. She has worked at Pets Friends from the beginning and has worked with David for several years before that. Karen carries out all aspects of nursing and petcare and overseas the daily smooth running of the practice.

Jennifer, Veterinary Nursing Assistant / Groomer: Jennifer is also an original member of the Pets Friends team. In addition to being a very experienced nursing assistant, Jennifer is also in charge of the clinic's grooming services in which she is fully qualified. When she is not in the grooming room, Jennifer also assists David in providing petcare and nursing.

Sandra, Veterinary Nurse: Holding true to our family-run ethos, Sandra, a fully qualified and highly experienced nurse, is also Karen's sister!  Sandra is also Pets Friends' behavioural specialist and can be consulted on behavioural problems as well as pet healthcare.

Rachel, Administration: Last but no means least is Rachel, David's other half. She looks after administration, accounts, website and other back office functions. She can occasionally be seen behind the reception desk but generally works from home.

Locum Services: From time to time, when we feel he has earned a rest, David gets to take a holiday! During these times one of our locum vets takes over Veterinary duties.
